Knitting Animoto

Knitting began at Roberts High School in 2010. Since then, we have donated over 400 hats and scarves to various charities--both locally and in other states. The students have learned social skills, focusing skills, and creativity through this activity. They have also learned empathy and sympathy through creating something to give away to someone else. The community has been very supportive to our school over the years through donations of yarn, supplies and money. Our hope is that this charity activity will continue for years to come.

Elvis drops some beats. . .

Elvis cut - YouTube from Ranada Young on Vimeo.

Publications Class has been working with Garage Band on the iPads--and one of our students, Andrew, is teaching them! Elvis created this song as he was working during another class. Our class had been watching a movie about the Illuminati and other secret societies, and Elvis recorded part of it and then created the music to go with the mood of the video. Once the class heard the song, they loved it! Garage Band seems to be a program that could help our students create music and jingles that they could make money from for small businesses, local companies' commercials, etc. Hopefully more students will take advantage of the opportunity to learn this app.
