Literacy/Election night (by J. Garcia Pallares)
October 24, 2012
The
Literacy Night/Election Fair will be from 6:00PM to 7:30PM on Wednesday,
October 24th at Roberts
High School (3620 State St, Salem).

Some other things parents can see are the campaigns and candidates that are
running for local offices in the election. Another thing we are doing is bring
some bomb food for some parents that might be hungry; and also, students that
come may receive extra credit on their classes. We are having dinner and prizes
and also having a book fair that will make you learn about new things in
life.
We are also having cake for anyone who would want to celebrate with us.
We are having games so every one can play AND HAVE FUN.
HOPE YOU ALL COME AND HAVE FUN AT ROBERTS HIGH SCHOOL.

Knitting at Roberts High School (by J. Garcia-Pallares)
![]() |
Last year, Jose and other students knitted and donated over 200 hats to children cancer wards in Oregon and California. |
Some things that we have in Roberts
high school is that some kids can knit. These students can also make up their
community hours also by knitting. In the knitting cluster, you can make hats
and scarves for yourself or for people in foundations that may need fuzzy, warm
hats. Some teachers can also help you try to knit knew projects.
When I knitted, I thought it was
fun because I got to focus on the project. Once I started getting the hang of
it, I just kept doing it. I felt great about myself that something that I was
making was what someone needed, and that someone was helped by what I made.

Wordle!
We're a bit obsessed with Wordle these days. Make your own! www.wordle.net We recommend using Internet Explorer over Mozilla Firefox.
It's always fun to learn new things. . .
Like blogging! We appreciate everyone's patience as we figure out the
best ways to conquer the world of blogging. I think we have it figured
out for now, and hopefully there won't be many more drastic changes!
We've revamped the pages into actual blogs so that we can post more
easily and the older posts will still be accessible.
Thanks for hanging in there with us and we all learn a new skill!!

Always fun times at RHS. . .
You can say a lot of things about Roberts, but unsecured isn't one of them. Today, the Publications class was enjoying its time so much that we didn't want to leave. Then we couldn't leave. Until the cavalry arrived--fork and knife in hand--to rescue us from missing out on lunch. Whew! Thanks to all the helpers. . .no matter how crazy your ideas to release us!
